HOW ffam HELPs

FFAM was started by Bridget and Eddie Blehm in 2006 in response to their increasing awareness of the hardships that military families experience and the desire to give back to those who sacrifice so much on our country’s behalf.

Since then, this grass roots non-profit organization has grown to a volunteer pool of over 100+ supporting over 1,000 military personnel and their families each year.

  • We shop, wrap and deliver gifts to a select number of military families in need each year as well as providing gifts for single servicemen and women.

  • Started in 2023 with the goal of fostering camaraderie among service members, nurturing their spirituality with the guidance of the Chaplains, and providing support to address and prevent suicidal thoughts by cultivating meaningful connections.

  • We collect and deliver holiday boxes of food, along with a turkey, to our military families stationed at Fort Irwin and Camp Pendleton.

  • We prepare and serve a feast in Yorba Linda for our military families stationed at Fort Irwin and Camp Pendleton.

  • Volunteers knit, crochet and quilt baby blankets, hats and booties for the baby baskets we deliver to the new moms at Fort Irwin and Camp Pendleton. We also have a list of additional items needed for the baskets.

  • We love to send our soldiers off with a special gift bag, complete with home-baked cookies.

  • The Re-Entry Lodge serves as a retreat for our servicemen and women returning from deployment and provides them and their families with a special place to reintegrate, relax and have some fun -at no expense to them. The lodge has also been used by groups of singles in the armed forces to allow them a safe place to talk through PTSD and other emotional tolls of life in the military. Click here to learn more.

  • Children who have lost a parent serving in the Armed Forces are invited to an annual camp where they are able to enjoy time in nature with activities like fishing, swimming, boating and more.

  • When the worst happens, we're there to assist families in giving their loved one a memorable and meaningful service.

  • We provide retreats for those who have lost a son or daughter in the military so that they can connect with fellow moms and process their grief together in a supportive environment.

  • We provide occasional childcare for families with special needs children.
